Chocolate Slice
This chewy chocolate slice is filled with coconut and topped with a layer of sweet, fudgy, chocolate icing. Perfect with your morning or afternoon coffee - or whenever you need a simple, easy to make, chocolate treat.

Instructions
Chocolate Slice
Preheat the oven to 350F (180C) degrees.
Line an 8x8 inch (20x20 cm) pan with parchment leaving an overhang around the sides.
In a medium bowl whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, egg and vanilla extract.
Stir in the flour, cocoa, baking powder and coconut.
Spoon the mixture into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until just firm
Chocolate Icing
Sift together the icing sugar and cocoa powder in a medium-sized bowl.
Whisk in the melted butter, boiling water and golden syrup until smooth.
Spread the icing over the warm bars and sprinkle with coconut.
All the bars to cool fully and for the icing to set before slicing. You can pop them in the fridge for 30 minutes to speed the process up.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
