This Pumpkin Cake with Maple Frosting starts with a super moist, cinnamon packed pumpkin sheet cake. Then it’s topped with fluffy, creamy maple buttercream made with real maple syrup.
Today I’m sharing this pumpkin cake with maple frosting over on Oh Sweet Basil. I wanted to make an easy fall dessert recipe – but I wanted something just a little different.
There’s a lot of pumpkin recipes, a lot of pumpkin lattes out there, and a lot of pumpkin and caramel. But I couldn’t find too many with the combo of pumpkin and maple. So making this pumpkin cake with maple frosting was a top priority. Just FYI – you’re going to love it.
The pumpkin spice flavor of the cake pairs perfectly with the sweet maple frosting. Pumpkin spice is filled with cinnamon, nutmeg and ground cloves. The spices balance out the maple, and it definitely tastes like fall in cake form.
Making the pumpkin cake is super straight forward. After it’s cooled, you can also wrap it tightly in clingfilm then freeze it. It thaws perfectly in the fridge overnight, and then you can frost it when you’re ready to eat.
The maple frosting is smooth, creamy & completely delicious.
So if you’re looking for a new fall recipe to try – this pumpkin cake with maple frosting is definitely for you! So head on over to Oh Sweet Basil to get the recipe!
