Super healthy, 4 ingredient Berry Pomegranate Smoothie. Made with Greek yogurt & banana – you’ll love this healthy, flu-fighting breakfast!
Lately I’ve been looking at everyone’s gym progress on Instagram. Which makes me super impressed and proud to be internet friends with you. But also reminds me of the fact that while everyone else is working on their #gymlife and #goals, I’ve been lounging in my sweatpants while munching on treats. Consequently, the 5lb holiday weight gain turned into my January thermal layer. And is still going strong in March.
Perhaps it’ll just melt away with the snow… Or more likely I should reduce my sugar/carb/wine/beer/chip/pizza intake.
Probably time for a for a healthy recipe. Berry Pomegranate Smoothie it is.
This smoothie is thick, creamy, filled with antioxidants, and completely delicious. Plus, with juicy berries and pomegranate it’s flu-fighting too. (Because you can’t can’t work out with the sniffles…)
For this recipe I used a triple berry blend that includes raspberries, blueberries & blackberries to give a rich purple color and delicious, naturally sweet flavor. Then a banana makes it super thick (and potassium helps with muscle cramps after a those gruelling work outs). And Greek yogurt for protein. Last but not least, the pomegranate juice is really the star of the show. I know it can be pricey – but a little goes a long way. Plus, making your own smoothies is still way more economical than those fancy juice bars.
So drink away. Smoothie away. And be super proud of your progress. Either way, I’ll keep looking at cats on Instagram. And photos of melted chocolate & fancy cakes. And one day (hopefully soon) transition from sweatpants to gym shorts and hit the stair climber.
But I’ll drink this Berry Pomegranate Smoothie for now. Baby steps, right?
- 1/2 cup mixed berries , fresh or frozen
- 1/4 cup pomegranate juice
- 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 in ripe medium sized banana , yellow color
- Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
