Up your milkshake game with this Strawberry Shortcake Milkshake! Thick & creamy, with fresh strawberries & delicious vanilla cake – it’s the perfect summer treat!
Summer’s officially in full force, the hot weather is here, and I’ve been basking in the glory of all things July. Patios, cold drinks, beach days, BBQs. Despite the greasy hair & risk of sunburn – there’s pretty much nothing I’d change about summer.
Especially the copious amounts of ice cream you get to eat.
Sundaes, ice cream pies, milkshakes…. Ice cream is my less expensive, completely delicious, more environmentally friendly version of air conditioning. Plus, the calcium from dairy means it’s obviously a healthy diet choice??? (ok – maybe a far stretch).
But seriously, what could be a better reason to love July?
Anyways, ever since I made this delicious Blueberry Cheesecake Milkshake a few weeks ago I’ve been dreaming up new ways to eat ice cream. (Although, I have zero problems eating it straight from the tub). And after eating this delicious pound cake – I got to thinking.
Could we make cake-flavored milkshakes? You know like when you have cake and ice cream on your plate, and the ice cream gets deliciously melty, and then you take a big forkful (spoonful?) of both cake AND ice cream at once???
Yes – that’s, the kind of strawberry milkshake we’re making today.
Cold and creamy ice cream; fresh, juicy strawberries; delicious vanilla cake. All together in one strawberry shortcake milkshake. You seriously won’t be able to go back to your plain old milkshake after trying this beauty.
Because there’s cake in our milkshake.
Now, for this milkshake recipe we’re using vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries. I think the fresh strawberries are more reminiscent of the classic southern dessert, and when fresh strawberries are readily available – I like to take full advantage. Then, you’ll want to make sure you’re using high-quality vanilla ice cream for the most flavor.
Everything goes in the blender and in about 5 minutes – we’re done, and it’s time to cool off with this delicious strawberry shortcake milkshake. Thick & creamy, fresh strawberries, and perfect vanilla pound cake – this Strawberry Shortcake Milkshake has it all!
