Today we’re taking a break from all the sugar to make this strawberry banana smoothie. It’s creamy, it’s filled with berries, it’s perfect for breakfast, and you only need 3 ingredients.
Lately, I’ve been making a lot of strawberry desserts & baked goods to celebrate strawberry season. And this strawberry banana smoothie is my method of choice for using up the leftovers.
It’s a simple classic that never goes out of style. And there’s only 3 ingredients needed.
Strawberry Banana Smoothie Recipe
Today’s smoothie only uses 3 ingredients:
Feel free to use fresh or frozen berries. Then for milk – you can use really whatever you want. Almond milk, 1%, 2% – the choice is yours. Everything goes into the blender, and pulse until smooth.
If you like things a little sweeter, feel free to add 1 tablespoon of honey to the mix. I find that the fruit is sweet enough for me – but it’s totally up to you.
If you want to make this smoothie even easier & save even more time in the morning, you can make smoothie freezer packs. Chop the strawberries, then peel the banana and slice. Place the fruit into a ziploc bag and put in the freezer. Then in the morning, add the frozen fruit to your blender along with the milk and you’re good to go.
For a little extra protein, you could also add a scoop of vanilla protein powder. If you’ve made smoothie freezer packs, you’ll add the protein powder with the milk when you add everything to the blender.
Depending on how hungry you are – this recipe will make 2 smaller smoothies, or one very large smooth (think the size that comes at a smoothie shop).

- 2 cups strawberries , fresh or frozen
- 1 medium banana
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon honey , optional
- Core strawberries if not already.
- Place all the ingredients in the blender & pulse until smooth.
