Cookies, Bars, Breakfasts…. And of Course Lots of Chocolate. Check out the top 10 recipes from Just So Tasty in 2015. Can you believe it’s 2016? I’m in complete denial. Partially because this year is an especially big birthday for me…. And because I probably shouldn’t start off the new year with my apartment a complete disaster.
But let’s look back on 2015 and reminisce about the delicious treats. This year marked the start of Just So Tasty. I always baked as a hobby. But I decided to actually chronicle my baking adventures and share them with you – my internet friends. In June I embarked on my blogging & baking journey and in just 6 short months I’ve made so many tasty treats, learned a whole lot about recipe development, picked up food photography (still lots of learning to go) – and loved every single comment, pin & like from you! And we even started connecting in Facebook & Pinterest for more kitchen fun.
So thank you for helping me become a better baker, photographer, writer & dessert eater. And thank you for coming back to read my recipes & listen to my ramblings…. So, without further ado – here’s the Top 10 Recipes of 2015 from Just So Tasty – as judged by you and measured by Google Analytics.
#10 Pumpkin Cheesecake with Salted Caramel Sauce
Smooth, creamy, filled with spices and big pumpkin flavor – then topped with salted caramel sauce for the ultimate indulgence. I made this pumpkin cheesecake multiple times in the fall, and shared all my cheesecake making tips in the recipe. I realize that most of us aren’t looking for autumnal recipes since its January – but this cheesecake doesn’t need an excuse.
#9 Bakery Style Chocolate Chip Muffins
It’s no surprise to me that these muffins were a hit – I made them over the summer to celebrate my birthday, and it definitely was a pretty perfect birthday breakfast. They’re buttery, fluffy & packed with chocolate chips. I tested out sooooo many versions before I got the perfect ratios – so I’m so happy that you loved this recipe as much as me.
Peanut butter and chocolate is my favorite combination – so I’m glad you love these super easy Peanut Butter Blondies as much as me. AND Bonus – there’s no mixer needed for these delicious bars.
A classic – and for good reason. I’ve tried about umpteen different chocolate chip cookie recipes, and I absolutely LOVE this one. Chewy, soft, buttery, chocolatey. The gleaming, melted chocolate chips are my weakness.
Don’t you just love breakfast? These peanut butter pancakes are a healthy, delicious choice that’s completely weekend worthy. Oh – and they’re gluten free, dairy free & have no refined sugars. So it’s no wonder they’re one of our favorites.
To be 100% honest, I was a little surprised when this recipe started to take off on Pinterest. Goes to show that easy, delicious recipes are where it’s at. And with 3 varieties of chocolate chips – you can’t go wrong.
4. Light & Fluffy Banana Pancakes
I’m so glad we’re breakfast buds. These pancakes are banana bread in pancake form and I love that they made your list of favorites. The ultimate in fluffiness, filled with big banana flavor, lots of vanilla & spices, and perfect when drizzled with maple syrup. Nom, nom, nom, nom…. Nom
As a child I loathed oatmeal raisin cookies. But I found the light. And it turns out all of you are far wiser than me and always loved chewy, super soft oatmeal raisin cookies. Wait – one of my favorite cookie recipes doesn’t actually contain chocolate? My childhood self would be shocked.
2. Vanilla Cupcakes with Fresh Strawberry Buttercream
The only cupcakes to make the coveted list. And the only recipe with frosting. They’re like summertime in cupcake form. Light & fluffy vanilla cupcakes with the softest crumb topped with creamy buttercream made from fresh strawberries.
1.Soft Batch Double Chocolate Cookies
Your favorite recipe from Just So Tasty and my favorite cookie recipe too! Call me counter culture – but I definitely prefer a double chocolate cookie to the traditional chocolate chip. These are thick, fudgy, chewy, super soft & oozing with melted chocolate. I’m so glad we’re all chocoholics.
So thank you for reading & and following my baking chronicles. And let’s connect on Facebook & Pinterest for more baking fun in 2016. Happy New Year! What should we bake together this year?
Congratulations, Fiona, and looking forward to sharing your baking adventures in 2016!
Me too!!!! Lot’s of exciting treats planned!
